Macy's Birthday

Everyone has been asking me to blog about her birth and the labor and all that fun stuff!! So here I am finally getting around to it... (if you aren't interested in that story then just skip this post :) ha)

So on October 28 at around like 9:00 pm I started having really bad pain, like cramps. It came into my head that maybe  this could be contractions, but since they started so strong and so close together I thought that maybe it was something else.... I always pictured them starting slow and you time them until they get closer. But nope not mine. So I timed a couple and they were super close together and lasting a few minutes at a time, and I looked it up and that is when you are supposed to go to the doctor, so I thought I was timing it wrong and just kept hanging out with Kamron. We were playing Mario Kart when my contractions started, by the way! And yes I did loose.... BUT only because I was having such a hard time concentrating!
I finally called the doctor and she said to wait abot 3 hours and if they were still strong then to come in. So I started packing my hospital bag and trying to figure out what I needed. And then at 12:00 am we decided to head to the hospital.

This is me right before we left... I know that I am HUGE! (I am 38 weeks exactly here)

So when we got there they checked me and I was already a 4 so they admitted me and took me to a room. They started my epidural right away so basically all my pain was gone within an hour of being there.  After that my labor was pretty good. I didn't really have any pain at all and couldn't feel any of the contractions. So we just waited and waited and waited FOREVER!

They kept checking me every 4 hours or so and I hadn't made much progression at first so they decided to start me on  Pitocin at maybe 5ish pm... I can't remember exactly. That didn't really do too much for me. So they started turning me from side to side every 30 minutes... which was hard because I couldn't move anything from the waist down pretty much.

Finally at around 7:00pm I could start to feel my contractions coming on again so I asked about that and the nurse was going to talk to the anesthesiologist.  (This is after I had gone through 2 bottles for the epidural already) My doctor decided to check me and said she wanted me to start trying to push instead. So I had to start pushing as soon as my epidural had completely run out. I had the best labor ever with no pain and now this was excruciating!! After about an hour or pushing... Macy Ann Spaulding was born at 8:02 pm on October 29, 2011.

She weighed 7lb 1oz and was about 19 inches long
